What Customers Say About Himalayan Institute Original Neti Pot, Ceramic:

I'm Still waiting.Overall, SAVE your money, blow your nose. Also, keep in mind, after these were on Oprah's show the price went up 3 dollars and the guy kept insisting that I would have to pay the difference since the price went up. Long story short, he said he would send me some gifts for my trouble.3 weeks later, I still have yet to receive anything. I ordered the Ceramic pot and instead received a very cheap plastic version. Because you really do not need this product. At this point it had already been a week later since they were ordered and I was not gonna wait a week to receive the Return envelope, wait a week for them to receive it, and another week for them to send the correct Item. When I called their customer support, they acknowledged the mistake and said that I could return the ones received and they would send the correct ones. So I told the guy that I would keep the cheap ones and I demanded some sort satisfaction.

I would definately buy it, but it's the only one I've ever seen, and I can't help but wonder how it compares to others, and that's why I only give it four stars. I have to say, I was coming down with a crazy cold, and used this thing according to the insturctions and lemme tell ya, that cold never came about into anything, it miraculously went away.So. It's not this "wonderful amazing" quality made thing, but it's plastic, and it's durable and it works well.

Think about it: you are most likely going to be using tap water rather than heating up filtered water, so do you really need some overpriced "pure", "medical grade" salt. Plain table salt works fine (get the NON-IODIZED variety) as does Kosher salt (it should be non-iodized but has a larger grain so you need to use about twice as much). The price on both seems too high, but I have yet to see a reasonably priced Neti pot.Last but not least, there is no need to buy any special salts.

I gave away this ceramic one, but kept the plastic one for travel. It seals well, flows smoothly, and does not come out of the top. I have purchased three Neti pots: both of the ones here--the Himalayan Institute ceramic and plastic--and the Ancient Secrets ceramic pot.

Definitely get it instead.I might have rated this pot higher, perhaps even a two or three, had I not used the Ancient Secrets one and found it to be so much better. Save your money. The Ancient Secrets is my preferred pot.

If they ever make a plastic one, I will get it also and get rid of my Himalayan Institute plastic one.Why I don't like this specific pot:- it does not form a good "seal" around my nostril- water does not flow smoothly through my sinuses- water is always coming out of the top and dripping down the outside of the pot and therefore down my faceThe Ancient Secrets pot has none of these problems.

But the neti pot helps sooooo much. But then it lessened so that it worked.

thats why i gave it 4 stars. however, it doesn't stay like that for long.

I always had bad allergies. at first my nose was soo stuffy nothing could even get through.

i hope i can contradict that in the future. I still do.

Before, summer, fall, and spring were horrors.

The fact that its plastic is great because I'm sure I'll drop it once and smash it. It's amazing how much this has helped me out. The water seemed to be redirected to my ear and I had water in the ear for a day or so. I just use it once a night before bed and that seems to be enough.

So I've always had nasal breathing problems and pretty much anytime I bring it up with a doctor, I'm always given some kind of nasal steroid and sent on my way. All in all, if you've had nasal breathing problems for quite some time, give it a go. Pretty annoying. Not much else to say about it. I happened across the concept of the neti pot by accident over the internet and was very hesitent but still decided it was worth a try. When it came in the mail, I was excited but at the same time the idea of pouring water through my nose was strange and kinda gross for me but I worked up the courage to give it a shot.

I found out though that if you have a fully blocked nose (or just one nostril in my case) that has resulted from something like a cold, I would avoid using it. I don't know if it'll work for you the same as me but hey, its worth a try. Thank god I did. I have been sleeping better and in general my ability to breath through my nose has improved dramatically.
